I rented a vehicle from 10/27/2017- 10/29/2017 totalling $85.51. Around 11 PM on the 27th I received a text alert from Bank of America stating my account balance fell below my account balance threshold. I immediately pulled up online banking to see that Budget not only debited my accout for the amount of the rental but for an additional charge of $436.92. I immediately call Budget and was told by the rep named Asha that she rung up someone elses rental on my card but she voided it out. She ensured me that if the money was not returned by the next morning to call back and the rep present would fix it. The afternoon of the 28th I checked my account, no money returned so I called back to Budget. The rep who answered had no clue about what happened and told me the issue would not be addressed until Monday when the manager came in. I then called the 800-customer service where the rep adviised me to send a copy of my banking statement reflecting the deductions and the issue would be taken care of immediately, only to receive emails from rep Joe Barrera and Allan Velazquez advising me that the issue would be investigated and to allow 10 business days, which is unacceptable! i then contacted Budget customer service on Monday October 30 to speak with "supervisors" Josh Rodriguez and Fernando Guillern who advised me that i have to wait the 10 business days, there was nothing they could do at customer service. i explained that I am a frequent renter and the timeframe was unacceptable. I advised them they had my money under false pretenses and they had no legal binding rental contract stating that I purchased a rental for 436.92 and I wanted my money and would not release the call until my money was returned. After being on the phone with them for 36 mins Mr Rodriguez hung up. Budget has been reported to the Federal Trade Commission as well as the BBB in addition to any other agency I feel necessary... I'm not playing ANY games and will be compensated to the fullest the law allows for the inconvenience.
This will be my first one star review ever. Our plane landed at 5:30, we were at the budget counter at 5:45. The process of getting my information and credit card took about 10 minutes. Then came the wait, we stood there for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Sad thing was other people were waiting on Budget just as long. They were not overly busy, just horrible sense of urgency and customer support. Will not go there again.
Rented from budget for my move across the state. Called to confirm the truck reservation the night before because we never received our confirmation email. They said our reservation was there and would resend the email. Called the next morning to confirm our truck was ready before we got there. No truck there and did not have our name on file at all. Yet our card was already charged for the rental. Called customer service because local store could not help us. Was told we could not speak with a manager that they would send us an email and the inventory manager would contact us within 2 hours. Call U-Haul!!! All of the budget employees were I spoke to were extremely difficult to understand. Will never try to rent from them again. Called U-Haul they were able to have a truck ready for me within 30 mine.
Reserved a car for my mom & aunt who has never been to SC. Called Budget to see if their facility was pretty easy to get to & the representative on the phone answered my question very sassy-like as if i'm SUPPOSE to know that they are located in Baggage Claim & hung up. Every airport is different & some rental car agencies are NOT in baggage claim but need a shuttle to get to! rude. no phone etiquette whatsoever. i rated 3 stars because i'm not even the one experiencing the ACTUAL car renting. we'll see how THAT part goes.
